INDIVIDUAL THERAPY

A supportive space to better understand yourself and move toward meaningful change.

Individual therapy offers a compassionate and confidential space where you can explore emotional challenges, gain insight into your experiences, and develop healthier ways of coping at your own pace.

Individual therapy is a space to pause, feel heard, and begin making sense of what feels heavy or difficult to carry alone. Sessions are 60 minutes and offered virtually to individuals across Ontario through Jane, a secure online platform for video appointments.

Together, we can explore what is bringing you to therapy, understand patterns, process difficult experiences, and build practical tools to support daily life. The pace and focus of therapy are guided by your needs, goals, and readiness, with care that is warm, collaborative, and trauma-informed. Sliding scale spots may be available for individuals seeking accessible mental health support.

Frequently Asked Questions About Therapy

What is therapy?

Therapy is a supportive and confidential space where you can explore your thoughts, emotions, experiences, and patterns with a trained mental health professional. It can help you better understand yourself, process difficult experiences, develop coping tools, and move toward meaningful change at your own pace.

No. You do not need a diagnosis to begin therapy. Many people seek support because they are feeling overwhelmed, stuck, anxious, disconnected, or are trying to better understand themselves and their experiences. Therapy can be helpful whether you have a formal diagnosis or simply feel that you need support.

The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and begin understanding what brings you to therapy. We may talk about your current concerns, relevant background, goals, and what kind of support feels most helpful for you.

There is no pressure to share everything at once. We move at a pace that feels safe and manageable for you.

Yes. Therapy is a private and confidential space. There are some legal and ethical limits to confidentiality, which will be reviewed with you at the beginning of therapy so you feel informed and comfortable with the process.

The length of therapy depends on your needs, goals, history, and current circumstances. Some clients benefit from short-term support focused on specific concerns, while others prefer longer-term therapy for deeper healing and self-understanding.

We can discuss this together and review your goals as therapy progresses.

I am a Registered Psychotherapist in Ontario. This means that after completing my Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology, I became registered with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario, the regulatory body that oversees Registered Psychotherapists in the province and sets standards for safe, ethical, and professional care. I am also a member of the Ontario Mental Health Professionals Association.

I have completed training in EMDR Therapy — Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing — through an EMDRIA-approved training program. My clinical work is also informed by additional training in DBT, Narrative Therapy, Polyvagal Theory, trauma-informed approaches, and ACT.

Many extended health insurance plans cover psychotherapy services, though coverage varies by provider and plan. I recommend checking with your insurance provider to confirm whether services with a Registered Psychotherapist are included.

Direct billing may be available for some insurance companies. If direct billing is not available, you will receive a receipt after payment that you can submit for reimbursement, if applicable. This can be discussed before your first session.

Credit card and e-transfer are the preferred methods of payment.

Payment is typically made after each session, unless direct billing through an eligible insurance provider has been arranged in advance.

You can reach out by email, phone, WhatsApp, or through the contact form on this website. From there, we can discuss what you are looking for, answer any initial questions, and determine whether therapy feels like a good fit before moving forward with next steps.
